Source-checked surgeon verification
About

Ambassadors for risk reduction.

Verified Surgeons exists to reduce uncertainty in medical travel by investigating, documenting, and publishing the source-checked evidence patients need before choosing a surgeon.

Who we are

Source records.

How verification works

Verified Surgeons is a not-for-profit organization of experienced healthcare-industry researchers and medical publicists who have worked with surgeons across medical specialties worldwide for a combined twenty-eight years.

It operates a surgeon verification process built around discovery, evidence-gathering, and the publication of information patients rarely receive in one organized record: credentials, clinic context, patient testimony, and verification limits.

We build source-checked surgeon profiles for patients who need more than reputation, price, or advertising.

Our method

How we gather
the evidence.

Verification is an investigation, not a questionnaire. Our agents work in the field, on the record, and at the source, gathering records that can be reviewed, compared, and re-checked.

  • iPatient interviews — we speak directly with patients before and after surgery to establish first-hand accounts of their treatment.
  • iiAuthentication of reviews — we corroborate published reviews across digital platforms against payment, travel, and laboratory records.
  • iiiRecorded procedural evidence — when appropriate, we document workflow, team protocol, and case context instead of relying only on promotional claims.
  • ivRecording of the clinic's sterilization process — we observe and record sanitation and sterilization protocols on site.
  • vSworn affidavits from colleagues — peers who have witnessed the surgeon operate corroborate identity, certifications, and performance under oath.
Editorial standard

How we protect trust.

Source named Credential and identity claims are tied to the institution, authority, clinic, patient record, or named colleague that supports them.

Limits shown Confirmed evidence, pending claims, unverifiable statements, and case-dependent details stay visibly separate.

No paid status Fees support review work; verified status depends on evidence, cooperation, and continuing transparency.

How we are organized

Four departments, one verification.

01

Research

Discovers and consolidates every piece of published information about a surgeon into a single, organized record.

02

Investigation

Tests every claim in the field — gathering interviews, recordings, and affidavits that confirm or contradict what was found.

03

Verification

Confirms academic credentials, licenses, and board certifications at their source, and cross-checks findings against multiple records.

04

Development

Publishes the fact-checked findings as a cohesive Verified Surgeon™ profile and maintains it as evidence is re-verified.

The founder

Why Verified Surgeons exists.

VS
Founding Team
Verified Surgeons Founding Team

From reputation management to risk reduction.

From 2005 to 2016, the Verified Surgeons founding team provided reputation management and image consulting to surgeons across Canada, the United States, South America, and Europe, working closely with 72 surgeons in cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, orthopedic, plastic, and bariatric specialties.

After repeatedly seeing surgeons place patient safety second to profit, the team spent three years investigating diploma mills and fake medical universities — even acquiring, in Mexico City, a convincing university degree with transcripts plus a medical and a specialization certificate for $6,500 in two days, with a board-certification document offered for $50,000. That investigation became the foundation of Verified Surgeons.
